Saginaw Valley State University Athletics is releasing a series of student-athlete spotlights, which will feature some of our Cardinal senior student-athletes from the 2019-20 academic year. Stay tuned to www.svsucardinals.com to get to know our SVSU seniors a bit more.

Next up in our series is Volleyball student-athlete Hannah Tabit. Hannah is a native of Mt. Morris, Michigan who has played for the Cardinals the past four seasons as the team's setter. She has picked-up a pair of All-GLIAC honors throughout her career, being named to the Honorable Mention All-GLIAC Team in 2017 and to the All-GLIAC Second Team after her senior campaign. Tabit played in 90 career matches for the Cardinals and in 310 total sets. She registered 2,956 career assists and 565 digs, adding 60 service aces. Her 2,956 assists in her career rank her sixth all-time at Saginaw Valley State University. She was a part of two teams that participated in the NCAA Division II Tournament as well, with the Cardinals taking part in the 2016 and 2019 tournaments in her career. 

Hannah's favorite spot on campus is the team's lounge or locker room because she would always take naps in between class and practice on the couches.

Her favorite memory while competing for the Cardinals was when the team would always travel to the U.P. She loved all of the little stops the team would make and all of the views along the way. The trip that tops them all is when the team went to California in her freshman year. It was her first time on a plane and in the ocean. 

Outside of volleyball, Hannah enjoys fishing. She enjoys the adrenaline rush you get when you get a fish on your hook and yelling 'fish-on!'

Tabit is a physical education major who plans on landing a job as a teacher and also becoming a volleyball coach.

"Hannah was the sparkplug of our team's engine for the past three Seasons. She had such tremendous energy and passion on the court, whether it was practice or a competition. And she drove our team's success with her game and setting knowledge. She became one of the top setters in the region with her constant work-ethic and passion for the game. Her energy will be missed!"
