Saginaw Valley State University Athletics will be releasing a series of student-athlete spotlights, which will feature some of our Cardinal senior student-athletes from the 2019-20 academic year. Stay tuned to www.svsucardinals.com to get to know our SVSU seniors a bit more.

Next up in our series is Women's Soccer student-athlete Jennifer Muana. Muana is a native of Windsor, Ontario and has been a part of the team for the past four years. She played in 64 career matches, starting 61 of them. She had eight goals and five assists, mainly playing defender and forward. Muana earned All-GLIAC honors three times and was named All-Midwest Region in her 2017 sophomore campaign. She helped lead the team to an appearance in the 2018 NCAA Division II Tournament and a pair of GLIAC Tournament title matches.  

Jennifer's favorite spot on campus is the piano room in the Arts and Music Building. She is a biological sciences major who is set to graduate in December 2020. 

Outside of athletics, Muana enjoys writing. her favorite road trip was when the team went to Chicago. That we her first time visiting that city. 

Her favorite memories during her career are the team bonding in the locker room on game days and every time Trinity visited campus.

"Just wanted to thank my coaches for the past four years for their encouragement and their dedication; it not only made me a better soccer player but a better person overall. I really learned how to correct my flaws and be held accountable and that's something that allowed me to grow and become much better as an individual. I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to play for four years on this team, so thank you Coach O'Neill, Chann, Cos and Laurence! Stay safe!"
