C.J. Turnage - Men's Basketball

C.J. Turnage (Ypsilanti, Mich. / Milan HS) helped the Cardinals extend their winning streak to eight after back to back wins to kick off 2016. Turnage scored 21 points and led the game with nine rebounds on Saturday's (Jan. 2) overtime victory over Malone. On Sunday's match up against Walsh, the junior career-highed with 29 points, going 12-of-17 from the floor. He also had a game-high three blocks, added four assists and a pair of steals.

Emily Wendling - Women's Basketball

Emily Wendling (Flushing, Mich. / Flushing HS) led Saginaw Valley with a season high of 31 points and a game high 14 rebounds on the first game back after the holidays against Malone. She helped SV notch their third straight victory in overtime over Walsh, leading again with 29 points and 15 rebounds. Wendling went a perfect nine-of-nine in free throws, 10-of-15 from the floor, also adding four assists and three blocks.

SVSU women's basketball will be on the road this week to play Findlay at 5:30 pm on Thursday (Jan. 7), followed by SVSU men's team at 7:30 pm. On Saturday, January 10, both teams will face off against Wayne State University. The women's game will tip-off at 1:00 pm and the men's will start at 3:00 pm.
