HILLSDALE, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State's men's cross country team ran to a first-place finish at the 2013 Michigan Intercollegiate Championships, held at Hayden Park in Hillsdale, Mich.

The top-five scoring times for the Cardinals all finished in the top-15 with an average time of 27:11.57.

Tony Peel led the charge for Saginaw Valley, crossing the line in sixth place with a time of 26:53.03 in the 8K race.

Gareth Gose was next in 8th place.  He posted a time of 27:01.92.

Joseph Southgate (27:08.68) and Charlend Howard (27:11.34) finished in 10th and 11th places, respectively for the Cards.

Jalen Payne finished the race in the 15th spot with a 27:42.88 mark to round-out the scoring for SVSU.

The men are off from competition until the 2013 GLIAC Championship meet, which will take place on Oct. 26th in Houghton, Mich.
