Tennis Survives for 2-0 Start in GLIAC Play

SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. – The Saginaw Valley State University tennis team survived a marathon match against Lake Superior State on Saturday as the team pulled out a 4-3 win to improve to 2-0 through the first weekend of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. It is the first 2-0 start in the GLIAC for the Cardinals since the 2018-19 season.

Both Tara Erler and Lydia Liong had three-hour singles matches to end the meeting with the Lakers. Erler's win tied the score at three before Liong's victory sealed the nail-biting victory for the SVSU.
