Stuart claims GLIAC Tennis Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. ­– The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis team recently completed a 3-0 trip to Florida and the Cardinals are 4-0 to start the spring season.

Elizabeth Stuart was outstanding for the Cardinals last week in Florida, winning all five of her completed matches. For her efforts, Stuart has been named the latest Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week. The freshman is the first Cardinal to win the award since Madeline Miller in 2017.

Stuart was 2-0 in her doubles matches. She also won at No. 5 singles against St. Could State, and at No. 3 singles against Sioux Falls and Shippensburg.

The Cardinals open GLIAC play this week starting against rival Northwood University at 1 pm Friday at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.
