Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer program had four named to the College Sports Communicators 2023 Academic All-District® team including senior Sarah Fredrick and juniors Bri Cobbs, Solana Kelly, and Sara Samolinski.
Fredrick had a career-high six goals and 14 points this season along with her two assists. She has been with the program for the last five seasons posting her best season in 2023.
Cobbs in her third year with the program tallied one assist from the defender position. She played in all 19 games and started 15.
Kelly posted career highs in goals and points this season with three goals and an assist for seven points from the defender position. In her third year with the program, Kelly started and played in 18 of the 19 games.
Samolinski posted one goal and one assist from the midfield position as she played in 16 and started 15 matches for the Cardinals. This was Samolinski's fifth season with the Cardinals as she redshirted last year.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® winners will be announced in early December.
