Brook Herbstreit Qualifies for NCAA DII Women’s Golf Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – Saginaw Valley State University women's golf junior Brook Herbstreit qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships as an individual.

"Brook has been our number 1 all season," said SVSU golf head coach Mike Masten.  "It is no surprise that she is playing in regionals.  We were able to count on her as our scoring leader event after event.  She has proven herself to be a fierce competitor and one of our leaders.  She is coming off a 5th place finish at conference and we are excited to play golf next week."

Herbstreit will compete in the East Regional that will be hosted by the University of Indianapolis at the Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana on May 6-8.

The junior from Fenton, Michigan enters the tournament ranked #38 in the region. She holds a 576-178-15 record against NCAA Division II opponents and is maintaining an average of 78 on the season. She boasts two top-five finishes in her career with the best being a third place showing in the Ohio Dominican Invitational in 2022. Herbstreit's best finish in 2024 was fifth in the GLIAC Conference Championships last month.

The East Regional will have 15 teams and six individuals competing in 54 holes of competition. The top five teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will move on to the championships happening May 21-25 at Orange County National Golf Center in Orlando, Florida.
