SVSU Track & Field Teams Earn USTFCCCA Academic Team Awards; 13 Individuals Earn Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's track & field team earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team award. The men had a cumulative GPA of 3.037 while the women finished with a 3.263 team GPA to earn the award.

For a team to make the list it must obtain a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's roster for indoor and/or outdoor track and field.

Along with the team awards, the SVSU men's team had five individuals awarded while the women had eight. Ryan Brenner, Nathan Furst, Thomas Hufton, Brendan Nesbitt, and Trevin Phillips represented the men's team as individual recipients. Lynsey Amthor, Lauren Buckner, Grace Collett, Trinity Greer, Alexa Keiser, Kelsey Landra, Karissa Picard, and MacKenzie Ramey were the individuals on the women's side.

For the individual academic award, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have completed 24 semester hours at the institution. They must also achieve an automatic or provisional qualifying mark for either the indoor or outdoor season.
