Cardinals Compete at Golden Grizzly Invitational

ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's track team traveled to Oakland University for the Golden Grizzly Invite on April 7 and 8. The two teams looked to build on their strong start to the outdoor season.

The men's 4x100 squad got the team off to a hot start with Nathan Furst, Quinn Broussard, Rodney Zimmerman, and Kabanu Witherspoon winning the event by over half of a second with a 42.11 second finish. Furst added to his night with a third-place finish in the 110 hurdles finishing in 14.72. Seth Oxer placed top five in the 400-meter hurdles with a fifth place finish running 55.25. 

The women's 4x100 team consisting of Autumn Morris, Angelina Delbosque, Cassandra Campbell, and Sophia Thelen finished in fourth place running 48.47 seconds finishing just behind Grand Valley State who ran 48.19. Senior, Lauren Buckner got added to the women's team's performance with a win in the 800-meter run clocking 2:11.87.

The team takes flight to Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California on April 14 and 15.
