Cardinals Finish GLIAC Championships in Second Place

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field teams wrapped up the final day of the GLIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday, February 26. The Cardinals finished the weekend second overall for both the men's and women's team behind Grand Valley State University who took the crown on both sides of the meet.

The men's team scored 98 points overall and the women's scored 108.5.

Day two featured the following athletes:

Conference Champion:

Individual: Cassandra Campbell Campbell won the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.77 seconds

All-Conference:

Individual: Grace Collett – 60m Hurdles. Collett finished in third in 8.85 seconds.

Trinity Greer – 400m and 200m dash. Greer finished second in 56.88 seconds for the 400m dash and third in the 200m with a time of 25.18

Angelina Delbosque – 60m and 200m dash. Delbosque finished second in the 60m dash with a blazing 7.81 seconds and second overall in the 200m with a time of 24.97 seconds.

Eric Niestroy – 800m dash. Niestroy finished second in 1:53.97

Alexa Keiser – 3000m run. Keiser ran 9:38.65 just short of her school record time to finish third in the conference.

Team: Women's 4x400 relay – The squad made up of Kelsey Landra, Keirstyn Stoin, Taylor Moyer, and Makayla Fuerst finished third overall with a time of 3:57.44

Men's 4x400 relay – The squad make up of Evan Green, Kabanu Witherspoon, Quin Broussard Jr., and Tyler Burrell finished second overall with a time of 3:18.91
