Cardinals Finish Third at WCW Tri-Meet

MARQUETTE, MICH. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's track and field team traveled to the W-C-W Tri Meet on Saturday February 4th to face off against the Wildcats of Northern Michigan University and the Warriors of Wayne State University.

 

Highlights of the meet included wins across multiple events starting with Trinity Greer in the 300m besting the field by over a second with a winning time of 40.83 seconds. Kailee Sandoval picked up the win for the Cardinals in the one mile run finishing in 5:14.87. Angelina Delbosque picked up wins in the 55 and 200-meter race with times of 7.33 and 25.95 respectively. Capping off the meet with a win was the 4x400 team of Cassandra Campbell, Kelsey Landra, Trinity Greer, and Taylor Moyer.

 

Other Cardinals picked up points for the team as well. Cassandra Campbell, Hannah Schroeder, and Grace Collett all placed for SVSU in the 55m hurdles. Sophia Thelen and Mallory Farmer added to the total in the 400m run as well. Makayla Fuerst collected a point in the 600m race and Kailee Sandoval added to her night picking up a point in the 800m run.

The Cardinals look to run again next week at the GVSU Big Meet. This will be a two-day meet hosted in Allendale, Michigan on campus at Grand Valley State University.
