Cardinal distance runners compete at Davenport

CALEDONIA, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University track and field team opened competition this weekend at the Davenport University Invitational on Friday night in distance running events.

At Davenport in the 5000-meter run, CarLee Stimpfel was second with a time of 14:03.88, while Dayton Brown finished third in 14:12.97. Cooper Lenzi was third in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 33:05.08, and Johnathan Buck fifth in 34:10.15. 

Sam Deardorff ran a time of 15:26.00 in the 5000-meter run, while Jarrett Warner ran 15:47.00, and Carter Stoner 16:09.40. 

The Cardinals continue competition at both Davenport and the Concordia Ann Arbor Legacy Invitational at 11 am Saturday.
