Alejandro Robles Ruiz Earns a First for SVSU Swim & Dive

Indianapolis, Ind. – On the third day of the NCAA DII Championships, Saginaw Valley State University swimming and diving competitor Alejandro Robles Ruiz placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle. He finished with a time of one minute 36.56 seconds in the preliminary round and 1:36.87 in the finals. That time makes Robles Ruiz a first team All-American. He is the first swimmer in SVSU history to earn those honors. After that performance, SVSU sits in sixteenth overall at the championships.

Two more days remain in the DII Championships at IU Natatorium in Indiana. Robles Ruiz will compete in the 100-yard backstroke and Flora Mia Szklenar will compete in the 200-yard butterfly on Friday.
