Cardinal Swim & Dive Continue GLIAC Championships

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University swimming and diving program continued the GLIAC Championships Thursday in Holland for day two of four. After day two, the Cardinals sit in fifth place overall with the women in fifth and the men in sixth. The SVSU women scored 67 points and the men scored 100 points.

Flora Mia Szklenar had another near NCAA B cut time for the women as she finished the 100-yard fly in 56.18 seconds, just 0.14 seconds shy of the time to beat. On the men's side, Alejandro Robles Ruiz hit the B cut time on the 100-yard fly finishing in 48.03 seconds, just over a second ahead of the mark. Logan Fox completed the 200-yard freestyle in 1:38.90 making the B cut by 1.39 seconds. Almos Szedlak finished 1.42 seconds ahead of the B cut time for the 400-yard individual medley as well. The final bright spot was the team of Robles Ruiz, Fox, Szedlak, and Christian Rottier as they just missed the B cut time on the 400-yard medley relay by half a second.
