Flora Mia Szklenar Earns GLIAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week After Record-Setting Week

GLIAC Saginaw Valley State University sophomore Flora Mia Szklenar was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's swimmer of the week as announced by the conference office.

Szklenar led the women's swim and dive team with wins in the 100- and 200-yard fly. She finished the 100 in 56.99 seconds before beating the school record in the 200 by two seconds with a time of 2:03.56. That mark is the 11th-best in the country. She was also a member of the second-place 200-yard medley relay squad that was just .26 seconds behind first place.

This is Szklenar's first conference swimmer of the week award this season and the second of her career as she earned the honor in October of 2021.

The SVSU swimming and diving team will return to action beginning on Wednesday, February 15 at the GLIAC Championships at the Holland Aquatic Center in Holland, Michigan.
