UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State swimming and diving teams opened the 2022-23 season at home last weekend with a tri-meet against Kalamazoo College and Alma College at the Gerstacker Regional Aquatic Center.

The Cardinals swept the meet with divers Rory Kauffman and Adelaide Spencer taking home wins on both boards for SVSU

Spencer took the women's 1-meter with a score of 234.25 and won the 3-meter event with a score of 231.95. Kauffman added victories for the Cardinals in men's 1-meter and 3-meter, scoring 241.85 and 257.90, respectively.

The performances allowed Spencer and Kauffman to sweep the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Diver of the Week awards. The awards are the first for both Cardinal athletes.
