Jonathan Monney Named United Soccer Coaches Third-Team All-America

KANSAS CITY – The United Soccer Coaches announced the NCAA Division II men's soccer All-America teams on Thursday afternoon. Jonathan Monney was named to the third-team All-America list.

Monney finished his debut season with SVSU leading the GLIAC with 16 goals, six game-winning scores, and 37 points. He was second in assists with five and second in shots with 52. The Kitchener, Ontario native tied for fourth in NCAA Division II stats for game-winning goals, sixth in goals, and eighth in total points.

"Jonny Monney came into SVSU this season as a new player also. He immediately put himself on the map as he was within the top three goal scorers in the nation for Division II at about halfway through the season. He contributed to our successes massively this season, as scoring goals is the hardest thing to do," said Barrow.

The sophomore forward adds this award to his outstanding resume alongside his NCAA DII CCA All-America first-team honor as well as the CCA Midwest Region player of the year. For conference honors, Monney was GLIAC offensive player of the year and first-team All-GLIAC.

Monney is the first SVSU men's soccer player to be crowned an All-American since 2019 and he is the first to make two separate All-America teams since Craig Neal in 2014.
