UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team put its unbeaten record on the line in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinals against Purdue Northwest on Friday at Braddock Field.

The No. 1 seed Cardinals scored two early goals and held off the No. 4 seed Pride for the 2-0 win. The victory pushes SVSU to 13-0-4 overall this season and sets up a title game matchup for the Cardinals on Sunday.

Shortly after the opening whistle, SVSU went in front on a goal from Elliot Nottoli in the second minute on an assist from Brady Walker. SVSU doubled its lead in the 19th minute on a goal from Anthony Waller, assisted by Chidie Nnolim.

SVSU held the Pride without a shot on goal throughout the game. Nick Kay earned the shutout in net without needing to make a save for the Cardinals.

SVSU led the overall shots taken 16-9 and took six corner kicks to two for the Pride.

The No. 4 ranked Cardinals will look to capture the GLIAC Tournament title for the second time in program history and the first time since 2012 with a championship game matchup against the winner of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Davenport University.

The GLIAC title game will take place at 1 pm on Sunday at Robert C. Braddock Field.
