UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The No. 13 Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team opened the GLIAC season with a pair of home wins last week to improve to 5-0-1 overall.

Jonathan Monney continues to impress in his first season with SVSU, scoring three goals in the two contests, including both game-winners. Monney now has eight goals on the season to lead the Cardinals.

For his efforts, Monney has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. SVSU has won all three awards this season.

The Cardinals continue GLIAC play against Upper Iowa University at 12 pm on Friday at the SVSU IM Field.
