Cardinals open spring season in Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team opened their spring season on Saturday afternoon at the SVSU Spring Invitational from the Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky. Currently SVSU sits in a tie for 14th place in the team standings with a score of 323 after day one. 

Leading the Cardinals in the first round was Jiseung Choi and Connor Jakacki. Both shot a 79 in round one and are tied for 46th place in the individual standings. Right behind was Joey Per with a first round score of 80. The freshman is tied for 58th place. Completing the scoring for SVSU was Eddie Murphy in a tie for 98th place with an 84. 

Also competing for the Cardinals was Nicklaus Bailey and Parker Dietzel. Bailey posted a first round score of 85 while Dietzel shot 91. 

Day two of the SVSU Spring Invitational will begin at 9:30 am Sunday morning from the Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington.
