Men's Golf opens season at Arendsen Invitational

ALLENDALE, Mich.- The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team opened the 2021 fall season over the holiday weekend at the Arendsen Invitational hosted by Grand Valley State University. The two-day 54 hole tournament was contested at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale. 

As a team, SVSU finished in eighth place with a team score of 906. The host Lakers won the event with a team score of 848.

Individually for the Cardinals, Jiseung Choi led the team with an overall score of 221. Choi finished in a tie for 18th place on the individual leaderboard. Connor Jakacki followed with a score of 227, tied for 31st. Behind him, Joey Per finished with a score of 232 in his first collegiate tournament. Brendon Gouin and Brady Dice finished with a 54-hole score of 233 and 241, respectively. 

The Cardinals will be back in action next week when they host the Al Watrous Invitational at the Saginaw Valley Golf Course.
