McClanathan joins the SVSU football coaching staff as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator.

McClanathan spent the last three seasons at Eastern Michigan University working with the offensive line. 

Before his time at EMU, McClanathan served for seven years working the offensive line and three years as the Offensive Line Coach & Run Game Coordinator for Drake University. 

In addition, McClanathan was a football letterman and two-time PFL Champion. He played center for Drake Football and was a four-time community service captain.

"Mike is a teacher," said head football coach Ryan Brady. "He loves to coach and develop young men. In addition to being an outstanding communicator, his players love to play for him. Mike is an excellent fit with the coaching staff we have assembled here, and Mike will make a huge impact up front and in the run game for the Cardinals for years to come. I am excited to work alongside Coach McClanathan and look forward to working together day in and day out. We are thrilled to welcome Coach Mike McClanathan to SVSU."
