UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University junior linebacker Alfred Dailey Jr., was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week when the conference office announced the weekly award recipients on Tuesday afternoon.
Daily Jr. was all over the field for the Cardinals in week one. He led the team in tackles with 10 and forced a fumble on a tackle for loss late in the fourth quarter that put the Warriors in a 3rd and long situation that resulted in a punt and helped seal the win over Winona State.
The Cardinals return to action this Saturday, September 9 when they host rival Northwood inside Wickes Stadium for the Axe Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
