Joshua Baker started as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Saginaw Valley State University in September of 2023. He was first invovled at SVSU as an Athletic Digital Media Intern in November of 2022.
Baker graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Broadcast & Cinematic Arts in May of 2021. While at CMU, he was a student broadcaster for Women’s Basketball, Baseball, and Softball. He also was a sports anchor for News Central on campus.
Baker has spent the last 7 years working in sports media between working for ESPN 100.9 FM in Midland as a radio producer and broadcaster covering Great Lakes Loons baseball and local high school athletics. In 2021, he was the Play-by-Play broadcaster for the Battle Creek Bombers. A college wood-bat team in the Northwoods League. From 2021-23, he served as the Director of Broadcast for the Big Rapids Cardinals broadcasting their high school hockey games.
Baker is a Midland High School graduate. He played three years of varsity hockey for the Chemics. He enjoys sports and plays adult league hockey and softball. He currently resides in Midland, Michigan.
