Winter Park, Fla.Saginaw Valley State University baseball had their second doubleheader against the University of Findlay Saturday afternoon at Rollins College. After winning the first two, SVSU (4-6) lost the second pair of games to split the series against the Oilers (6-6).

The first game was the fastest of the four and showcased a good pitching duel between the starters. Martin Money got the lone run for the Cardinals as they fell 4-1. Money tripled in the first inning scoring Colin Cornwell.

Ryan Adams (L, 0-1) started strong on the mound with three scoreless innings before running into some trouble in the fourth. A two-run double gave Findlay a 2-1 lead. Nolan Raymond secured the final two outs on the seven-inning game for the Cardinals.

Blaine Wynk (W, 2-1) pitched 6 2/3 for Findlay and Gavin Bailey (Sv, 1) got the final out after a walk to seal the victory.

Game two wrapped up the doubleheader and the series and was an offensive explosion similar to the series opener on Friday. Findlay took home the 14-6 win to split the four games against SVSU.

Christopher Schmees (0-2) started for the Cardinals and have a rough first inning. The Oilers had five come home to start the game strong. Schmees got two outs in the second before being relieved.

SVSU started to climb the mountain back as they were able to tally three of their own runs in the first. Reed Raymond hit a sacrifice fly to score Brandon Scheurer, and then Ethan Dufresne and Luke Welch both had RBI singles to make it 5-3 Findlay. In the second Raymond continued his hot day with an RBI double, and Welch had another RBI single to tie the ball game.

Nick Bastian (L, 0-1) took over for Schmees and pitched a solid 2 1/3 innings, but took a tough luck loss. He only allowed two runs on one hit, two walks, and struck out three. However, the Oilers took the lead against him and never gave it up. A two-run double in the fourth gave Findlay all they needed with a 7-5 lead.

The final run for SVSU was another Raymond RBI sacrifice fly in the fourth. After that, the Cardinal bullpen got active. Seven pitchers finished off the final five innings of the game.
