Women's Cross Country Selected to Compete in NCAA DII National Championships

UNIVERSITY CENTER -- The Saginaw Valley State University women's cross country team was selected to compete in the 2019 NCAA DII National Championships and the men had two student-athletes earn automatic bids after their performance at the Midwest Regional Championships.

This will be Lady Cardinals' first time back to the National Championships since 2013 when the team placed 11th overall. The two individual qulifiers for the men's team were CarLee Stimpfel and Dayton Brown, both finishing within the top-five of the Midwest Regional Championships. Stimpfel finished 26th overall last year at the NCAA Division II National Championships to earn all-american honors as a freshman while Brown  posted a 52nd place finish at last year's national meet. They were catalysts in leading the Cardinals to a sixth-place national finish in 2018.

The Cardinals will race on Saturday (Nov. 23) in Sacramento, California. Full details will be posted to svsucardinals.com.
