Christina Bertie joined the SVSU Volleyball coaching staff in the 2019 season.

In her first season on staff, SVSU went 20-9 overall and advanced to the NCAA Divsion II Tournament. Four Cardinals earned All-GLIAC honors. Emily Friesl was the GLIAC Blocker of the Year and also was First Team All-GLIAC. Sarah Tabit also landed on the First Team while Hannah Tabit was Second Team All-GLIAC. Abbie Toland was the other Cardinal to earn All-GLIAC honors when she landed on the Honorable Mention team. 

The 2020 season was moved to spring 2021. Bertie would help coach Maria Vukaj to Second Team All-GLIAC honors and the team finished 5-12 overall. Haley Clum would earn Honorable Mention All-GLIAC as well.  

The Fall 2021 season saw Bertie assist the Cardinals to a 16-11 overall record and an 8-7 mark in GLIAC play. Sarah Veale was named the GLIAC Freshman of the Year following the season. Rylee Zimmer and Haley Clum earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors, and Peyton Gerstacker was named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC.

She was the head coach of the SVSU volleyball program from 1987-1996, compiling a record of 116-138 overall and going 44-90 in GLIAC play.
