GLIAC -- The Saginaw Valley State University volleyball team had four student-athletes garner All-GLIAC honors after postseason balloting conducted by the league's head coaches in conjunction with the annual league tournament.

Junior Emily Friesl was named GLIAC Blocker of the Year and earned All-GLIAC First Team honors at the middle hitter position for the 2019 season. Friesl is currently second in the GLIAC in blocks per set with 1.07 and second in the GLIAC in total blocks with 115 this season. She is No. 5 on SVSU's career block assists list with 267 and looks to move higher on that list in her senior season.

Senior outside hitter Sarah Tabit also earned All-GLIAC first team honors for the Cardinals. Tabit leads the GLIAC in kills and kills per set with 466 and 4.36, respectively. She has left a lasting impression at SVSU as she holds career records, including the No. 3 spot for total attacks with 3,101 and is No. 5 in SVSU history for kills with 1,171.

Fellow senior Hannah Tabit was named to the All-GLIAC Second team at the setter position for Saginaw Valley. Tabit, much like her sister, has made SVSU history ranking in at the No. 5 spot for career assists with 2,936. Tabit was the GLIAC leader in assists in conference play with 644 in the 2019 season and was fourth in the GLIAC for assists per set with 10.65.

Earning All-GLIAC Honorable Mention plaudits for the Cardinals was senior libero Abbie Toland, who led the Cardinals in digs this season with 461 and was good for third in the GLIAC for the 2019 season. Toland now ranks fourth in career digs, recording 1,594 in her tenure as a Cardinal. She also holds the No. 5 position for digs in a season, earning 521 digs in the 2017 campaign.

The Cardinals posted a 20-8 overall record in the 2019 regular season and a 12-4 GLIAC mark. SVSU earned the No. 4 seed in the GLIAC Tournament and ranked No. 9 in the most recent Midwest regional rankings.
