Sarah Tabit earns GLIAC Volleyball North Player of the Week Honors

GLIAC -- SVSU senior outside hitter Sarah Tabit has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Volleyball North Player of the Week following her performances in weekend wins over Northern Michigan, 3-0, and #21 Michigan Tech, 3-2, to end regular season play.

In the three-set sweep of the Wildcats Tabit led the Cardinals in kills with 14 and had a hitting percentage of .435. She added two assists, a service ace, and nine digs in the win over NMU. In the thrilling five set win over #21 Michigan Tech, Tabit led the Cardinals with a career high 30 kills in the match. Tabit is the current GLIAC leader in kills with 441 this season and is the new kills per set leader with 4.28.

With the two wins the Cardinals improve to 20-7 overall and 12-4 in GLIAC play and have earned the #4 seed in the GLIAC Tournament. SVSU will host the Wayne State Warriors Wednesday (Nov. 20) in the Quarterfinals of the GLIAC Tournament. The first serve set for 7:00 p.m. in the Hamilton Gymnasium.
