SVSU Tennis drops 7-0 matchup at Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla. -- The Cardinal Women's Tennis team traveled to Rollins College on Saturday (Mar. 8) morning to finish its week-long trip through Florida. The Cardinal Women played solid tennis but still fell to the powerhouse Rollins team by a score of 7-0.

The Cardinals started off well in doubles play, led by a Cardinal victory at #3 Doubles by the team of Nicole Johnson and Gyselle Gutierrez at 6-4. The #1 Doubles team of Maddie Miller and Taylor McLaughlin battled until the end before falling by the score of 4-6. In singles play, Sara Neves continued her solid play in Florida by fighting to a third set tiebreaker before falling by the score of 3-6, 6-2, 10-5.

"Our Florida trip came to an end today, and while our overall record on the trip wasn't what we would like it to be, I cannot help but be pleased with our play this week" said Head Coach Ryan Ruzziconi. "Our players really played some solid tennis this week against some of the toughest competition in NCAA D2 tennis. The improvement and the effort this week is exactly what I was looking for from this trip, and again, I am really excited about the future of the Cardinal Tennis Program."
