TAMPA, Fla. -- The Cardinal Women's Tennis team traveled to the west side of Florida on Thursday (Mar. 5) to play the University of Tampa. In a battle in the Florida heat, the Cardinals fell to the Spartans by a score of 7-0.
Gyselle Gutierrez had the match of the day at #4 Singles, battling to a third set tiebreaker before falling by the score of 6-1, 3-6, 10-4. The Cardinals also got strong doubles performances today from the #2 Doubles team of Joanne Gao and Sara Neves and the #3 Doubles team of Gyselle Gutierrez and Adiya Young.

"The team played well out of the gate in doubles play, but the heat and match fatigue caught up to them a bit in singles play. The daily improvement is there and I am excited for the future of SVSU Tennis."
