Women's Soccer Has Three Named to 2019 All-GLIAC Teams

The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team had three athletes earn All-GLIAC honors after postseason balloting conducted by the league's head coaches in conjunction with the annual league tournament. 

Junior Sakura Bals was named to the All-GLIAC second team as a forward for the Cardinals. Bals is currently the team leader in goals with five, one being a game winner, in the 2019 season. She has the second most points on the team with 10 and has a shot on goal percentage of .647, second highest for the Cardinals.

Senior Molly Vanderhoff recieved All-GLIAC second team honors as a midfielder for Sagainaw Valley. Vanderhoff has 3 goals, two coming as game winners in the 2019 season. She has two assists for the Cardinals and 8 points to date.

Honorable Mention

Freshman midfielder Autumn Kloha earned All-GLIAC honorable mention in her first year as a Cardinal. Kloha started and played in 17 games, to date, for the Cardinals. In her first season she scored 1 goal and had 2 points for SVSU.

The Cardinals posted a 11-6 overall record in the 2019 regular season and a 7-2 GLIAC mark. SVSU earned the No. 2 seed in the GLIAC Tournament with a big, 4-2, win over Ashland University and earned a 2-1 win over Parkside in the first round of play. The Cardinals face Ashland again, Friday (Nov. 15), in the Semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament.
