Valentina Giambanco Earns GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

GLIAC -- SVSU senior forward Valentina Giambanco has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Player of the Week following her performance in Friday's 4-2 victory over No. 12 Ashland to end regular season play.

Giambanco scored two goals in the win, helping SVSU secure the No. 2 seed in the 2019 GLIAC Tournament. Valentina leads Saginaw Valley with 12 points (4 G, 4 A) and the Cards take-on Ashland once more in Friday's GLIAC Tourney Semifinals after posting a 2-1 win over Parkside at home on Sunday in the quarterfinal round. 

Saginaw Valley moves to 11-6 overall on the season and 6-4 in the GLIAC and will travel to Grand Valley State on Friday (Nov. 15) to take on Ashland once again.
