16th-ranked Cardinals Move to 3-0 After Road Shutout at UMSL

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The SVSU Women's Soccer team, ranked No. 16 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 national poll, posted a solid 2-0 road regional victory at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Cardinals battled adverse weather to score a single goal in each half for the two-goal win.

The first half came to a close with the Cardinals leading 1-0. Lindsay Stroebel connected for her second goal of the season, using a nice feed from Valentina Giambanco. It was Giambanco's second helper on the early season as well.

SVSU pushed the lead to 2-0 in the second half after Molly Vanderhoff scored her second goal of the 2018 campaign unassisted. That 2-0 count would prove to be the final for Friday night's matchup.

Alyssa Watts (3-0) picked up the victory between the posts, helping lead the Cards to the team's second clean sheet of the season.
