Coffman, SVSU Women Finish 5th at GLIAC Championships

NASHPORT, Ohio -- The SVSU Women's Golf team rounded-out competition on Sunday (Apr. 23) at the 2018 GLIAC Championships, which was hosted at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. 

Led by top-five finisher Sabrina Coffman, the Cards ended the three-day event in fifth place with a final tally of 956. The team put together scores of 328-314-314. Saginaw Valley was eight strokes behind fourth place Wayne State. GVSU claimed the 2018 championship with a final score of 912.

Coffman tied for 5th overall after her three rounds, finishing with a total score of 229. Her scores of 77-76-76 gave her a +13 score.

Tying for 22nd overall on the weekend were Alexa Marston and Emily Barker. Marston had the second-best score in Sunday's final round with a 78, putting together rounds of 80-84-78. Barker had an 81 in final round action and shot scores of 84-77-81. 

Shelbe Cahill was one of three players in the 70s on Sunday, carding a 79. Cahill finished tied for 32nd overall after shooting scores of 90-79-79.

Annika Neumann finished her weekend with a round of 81, finishing tied for 34th with rounds of 87-82-81.

The team will await results for selection to the 2018 NCAA Division II Super Regionals, which will take place May 7-9 at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan.
