NASHPORT, Ohio -- After 18 holes of play at the 2018 GLIAC Women's Golf Championships, Sabrina Coffman sits in a tie for second place and the Cardinals are in fifth place as a team. The annual league championships are being hosted at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. 

Saginaw Valley shot an opening round score of 328 as a team, paced by Coffman's first round 77 (+5). She is just three shots off the pace of NMU's Haley Hewer. The Cards and three shots behind fourth place Wayne State and 19 behind the leading Wildcats of Northern Michigan. 

Alexa Marston registered a first round 80 (+8) for SV, sitting in a tie for 12th place overall. Emily Barker is 29th after her score of 84 (+12) following the opening round. Annika Neumann rounded-out the team's scoring with a score of 87 (+15) and she is tied for 36th overall. Shelbe Cahill competed as well, shooting a 90 on Friday.
