Coffman's 73 Leads Women's Golf in Opening Round of NC4K Classic

BLACKLICK, Ohio -- The Cardinal Women's Golf team opened play on Monday (Apr. 9) at the 2018 NC4K Classic, hosted by Ohio Dominican University at the Jefferson Golf & Country Club. 

Saginaw Valley sits in a tie for 9th place after the first 18 holes of play, battling through tough conditions with a team score of 329. The Cardinals are tied with host school Ohio Dominican University in the 9th slot. Grand Valley State leads by two strokes at 305 over Northern Michigan University. 

Sabrina Coffman led the way for the Cards on Monday, firing an opening score of 73 (+1) she is tied for second place overall. 

Shelbe Cahill and Emily Barker each carded a score of 84 for SVSU while Alexa Marston closed-out the team's scoring with an 88. She is tied for 64th overall. Cahill and Barker are tied for 38th place.

Annika Neumann is competing as an individual and shot an 85 for Saginaw Valley. She is tied for 45th overall.

The Cardinals return to the course on Tuesday for the second and final round.
