Women's Golf Finishes 7th at Bulldog Fall Preview

BIG RAPIDS -- The SVSU Women's Golf team finished up competition at the 2017 Ferris State University Bulldog Fall Preview, finishing in seventh place overall after posting rounds of 319-320. 

The Lady Cardinals tied in the seventh slot with Northwood University with the 639 total. Grand Valley State won the event by eight strokes over Northern Michigan.

Saginaw Valley was led by Sabrina Coffman, who followed up a day one score of 79 with a one-over score of 73 on Saturday. She tied for 8th overall with her two-day total of 152 (+8). The score of 73 is a new program record, besting the previous low of 76.

Alexa Marston trimmed one stroke off her first round score, following an 81 with a Saturday score of 80 to finish in 27th place with a 161 (+17). Shelbe Cahill tied with Marston in the 27th spot, carding rounds of 78-83 in the tournament. Lucy Cornwell finished 43rd with scores of 81-86. Emily Barker and Annika Neumann tied for 50th, with Barker shooting 86-84 and Neumann going 83-87.

SVSU competes next at the SVSU Invitational, which the Lady Cards are set to host Sep. 23-24 at the Saginaw Valley Public Golf Course. It will be the first official event hosted on the team's home course in program history.
