2017-18 Saginaw Valley State Preview

Saginaw Valley State is coming off of back to back 20-plus win seasons in which they claimed the GLIAC North Division Championship and secured appearances in the NCAA Division II Round of 32. Head Coach Jamie Pewinski returns for her seventh season at the helm, having taken the team to postseason play in four of her six seasons.

With the departure of all-time leading scorer and all-american Emily Wendling, along with fellow All-GLIAC first teamer Katelyn Carriere, the Lady Cardinals have some big shoes to fill. This year's roster features no seniors and six returners from last year's squad. Seven freshmen and one redshirt freshman join the team looking to make an immediate impact. Anna Hall, Hannah Settingsgaard and Abby Duffy are the returning juniors for the team that will be looked to for leadership.

The Cardinals open the 2017-18 campaign with road games at Bellarmine and Southern Indiana on November 10 and 12. They then play four more non-conference games before traveling to the U.P. to play Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan the weekend of November 30 for the start of GLIAC play.
