UNIVERSITY CENTER, MI –This month's Women's Basketball "Get to Know" spotlight highlights freshman guard, Anna Hall.  Anna comes to the Cardinals from Stow, Ohio after a standout high school career at Walsh Jesuit High School.

Below are a few comments from Head Coach, Jamie Pewinski, about Anna Hall:

"We knew during the recruiting process that Anna was going to be a huge addition to our team and was the missing piece in the 2015 recruiting class. Her speed and instincts on the defensive end are game changers. She has played very consistent and it is hard to keep her off the floor. We haven't played a game yet, that someone hasn't commented on how good she is and how much she changes our team. We are excited to see her game grow and where she can take this program over the next four years" – Coach Pewinski

Here is what Anna had to say about her first semester on campus as a student-athlete:

"My first semester of college really flew by! It was a lot to adjust to with school and basketball at first, but once I got into the swing of things it seemed to go so fast. I really can't believe it's over.  Knowing my first semester of college is done and that we are halfway through the season is crazy, but I'm very excited to see what the second half of the year has to offer."

Why did you choose SVSU?

The whole campus is beautiful and it is the perfect size. It's far from my hometown, but I fell in love with it when I visited. Basketball also had a bit of an influence on my decision as well!

What is your favorite part of campus?

The Ryder Center is amazing! It is where I am the majority of the time whether I'm shooting, practicing or even doing homework.

What is your favorite movie?

I would say it's a tie between The Fault In Our Stars and Love and Basketball.

What is your favorite food?

My all-time favorite food is my mom's chicken!

Who is your greatest inspiration and why?

My greatest inspiration is my mom. She has made me into the person that I am and I strive to be just like her. She has pushed me to be the best I can be and taught me to always fight for what I want and to be my own self!

What is your favorite music group/artist?

Definitely Timeflies!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy being with my family, friends and my dogs! I also like listening to music and being outside.

What is your career ambition?

I would like to get a degree in engineering and hopefully use that to help people and create better products for future generations. I want to make a significant impact on the world!
