SVSU Women's Basketball 'Get to Know' : Kayla Womack

SVSU Women's Basketball 'Get to Know' : Kayla Womack

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – This month's SVSU Women's Basketball "Get to Know" spotlight is junior guard, Kayla Womack. A native of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., she is coming off a solid 2012-13 season and the Cardinals will rely heavily on her next year.

Below are some comments from Head Coach, Jamie Pewinski, about Kayla Womack:

"Kayla has been and will continue to be a huge key to the success of our program. She had a good junior year, but I still feel that her best basketball is ahead of her. Kayla's ability to change a game on the defensive end is what separates her from other players. She really pulled us through some games this past season by making plays when we desperately needed them.

She has an unbelievable personality that the rest of our team feeds off of and we are at our best when Kayla is at her best. I'm very proud of her perseverance and dedication to what we are trying to build here at SVSU. I'm excited to see her next season and we will continue to depend on her both on and off the court."

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

My all-time favorite is to shop…so any time I get a second to do something like that - I'm on it.

What is the best part of campus?
I would have to say the Education Building. It's new, clean and a great place to do some studying.

What is your favorite movie?

Hands down…Lion King!

What is your favorite music group right now?

Right now I don't have one…I like a lot of different groups and styles of music…I guess it's just too hard to pick one.
Favorite food?

Any and all types of pasta (it doesn't matter).

Who is your greatest inspiration and why?

My greatest inspiration is my mom…she has accomplished so much and done so many things to help throughout my life. I rely on her heavily and she has taught me so many lessons that I use all the time.

What is your career ambition?

My goal is to become a physical therapist.

Why did you come to SVSU?

The campus is great and the school is close to home.
