Cardinals post a 3-0 shutout over Purdue Northwest

HAMMOND, Ind. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer team posted a 3-0 shutout on the road over Purdue Northwest. With the win, the Cardinals improve to 10-5-1 overall and 8-4 in GLIAC play.

The first score of the match came late in the first half as Robbie Bruce was able to beat the Pride defense and put the ball in the back of the net to put the Cardinals up, 1-0. This score would hold true through the remainder of the first half as Mason Maziasz and the Cardinal defense held the Pride to just four shots.

SVSU out shot the Pride, 6-4, in the first half and only allowed two corner kick opportunities for PNW.

The Cardinals would score again at the 53' mark as Robbie Bruce found Kairo Coore to put SVSU up, 2-0, on Purdue Northwest. Saginaw Valley would score once more on an unassisted goal from Gabriello Calamita to put the Cardinals up, 3-0. SVSU would close the final minutes of the match keeping the Pride off the scoreboard and posting a ,3-0, win.

Inside the Boxscore
