David LeRoux enters his fifth season on the SVSU Football coaching staff in 2022.

During the 2021 season, LeRoux helped SVSU to a 7-4 overall record and 4-3 GLIAC mark. Kicker Connor Luksic earned First Team All-GLIAC honors for the first time in his career. Luksic wound up going 19-26 on field goals, with a long of 48. Luksic was perfect on PATs, going 32-32 in that category, and recording 89 points for the Cardinals. He was named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week five times during the season.

LeRoux comes to Saginaw Valley after serving twelve years as a High School Football Coach, with his most recent assignment being at Nouvel Catholic Central High School in Saginaw. In 2013 he was named head freshman coach, then assigned to the Varsity staff as an assistant in 2014, where he remained through 2018. In 2017, LeRoux helped the Panthers ascend to the state finals held at Ford Field in Detroit, finishing the year with a 13-1 record.

David began his coaching career at John Glenn High School in Bay City, where he served from 2007 through 2012. While there, he coached at all class levels, mainly working as a line coach with both the Defense and Offense. In 2012, he became the Defensive Coordinator of the Junior Varsity squad.

Coach LeRoux brings many years of entrepreneurial and business experience to the program, having owned and operated many businesses over the past 35 years. His knowledge, organizational ability, and connections to the people, community, and various local organizations make him a valued asset to the SVSU football program.

At Saginaw Valley, he is currently serving as Director of Football Operations and Program Development, and as an Assistant Defensive Line and Specialists Coach.

David is a 1980 graduate of All Saints High School in Bay City, where he played two years of football for the Cougars as Center, Guard, and Tackle. He is a recent student of Saginaw Valley and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Northwood University in June of 2021. He currently is working on his Master’s Degree in Sports Management at West Virginia University.

He resides with his wife Connie and their Cavalier Spaniel (Charlie) in Bay City.
