UNIVERSITY CENTER -- Saginaw Valley State University Head Football Coach Ryan Brady and the Cardinal coaching staff have announced the addition of 36 student-athletes who will join the football program, beginning in the fall of 2020.
This year's class features two players who have claimed state championships, seven state runner-up showings and 34-of-36 players competed in their respective high school's playoffs. There are 22 incoming Cardinals who earned all-state honors and every player in this class was named all-conference.
SVSU Head Coach Ryan Brady on the SVSU Football 2020 Recruiting Class...
"This is an exciting day for all of us here at Saginaw Valley State, obviously, because it is our first recruiting class, and we wanted to make this class one of the best in Division II. I am extremely pleased with the outcome of this class in its entirety. From top to bottom we identified and attacked a certain type of player, person and athlete. The one thing we did was we tried to continue to find and recruit players right up to the very last minute. This day is an accumulation of a lot of hard work by a lot of people. I am very thankful for the work of everyone involved in our recruiting process. All of our assistant coaches did an outstanding job of evaluating and identifying players that we really wanted to zero in on and that fit the mold from a competitive, leadership and character standpoint. We're excited and very fortunate to have the kind of class and the number of quality student-athletes that we have joining us is outstanding. All these guys can contribute to helping us continue to build a Championship program here, both on and off the field. The opportunity that they have as future Cardinals is outstanding and the relationships that we want to develop with them to help them grow and develop as people, students and players is what my staff and I live for. The best is yet to come at Saginaw Valley State and this is just the beginning. My staff and I will now look forward to Spring Football and "Earning It" everyday with our players in pursuit for a GLIAC Championship. Go Cardinals! #Earn It, Coach Brady"
