2014: Participated in 9 games for the Cardinals...posted 27 tackles, 14 solo, and averaged 3 tackles per game during his senior campaign...added 1 interception and returned for touchdown against Hillsdale (Nov 1).

2012: Redshirted.

2011: Competed in 10 games for Saginaw Valley, starting in all of them...posted a total of 39 tackles on the season...had one interception for a return of 18 yards in a victory over Northern Michigan (Nov. 5)...recorded five broken up passes as a defensive back.

2010: Saw action in 10 games, starting one…finished the season with 381 all-purpose yards and 16 tackles…had a season high 84 yards against Ferris State (Sept. 11)…forced one fumble in a 43-31 victory over Michigan Tech (Oct. 9)…led the Cardinals in kick returns with 17 and had three punt returns.

2009: Redshirted in 2009. 

Prior to SVSU/Personal: Prepped at Lansing Waverly High School...spent the majority of the 2007 season on defense and earned all-conference as a defensive back...switched to offense in 2008 and caught 38 passes totaling 715 yards and seven touchdowns, earning all-conference...carried the ball 19 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns...on defense, totaled 48 tackles and three interceptions...had a stand-out performance in the homecoming game where he totaled 404 all-purpose yards and an interception...was also a member of the track team where he was a state-qualifier in the 200-meter dash, running 22.8 in his first year in competition...majoring in business...son of Rodney and Teresa Sumpter...born 6/19/91.
