"We as a program are excited to honor an SVSU Baseball legend and a man that had a tremendous amount of success, dedicating 32 years to this University and the department," stated SVSU Baseball Head Coach Steve Jaksa. "We look forward to honoring Walt, his family and all of the Cardinal Baseball Almuni who have had a part in the past successes and paved the way for the future success of our program. We hope everybody can join us for this great event and I truly look forward to Saturday!"
Head began his coaching career for the Cardinals in the 1982-83 season and racked-up 864 victories in his career, spanning until the 2013-14 season.
