Cardinals Ranked No. 7 in Most Recent NCBWA Midwest Regional Poll

UNIVERSITY CENTER -- The SVSU Baseball team is listed at the No. 7 ranking in the most recent National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) Division II Midwest Regional Poll. 

The Cardinals, who currently tote a 13-6 overall record, entered the past weekend ranked third in the nation with a batting average of .349. The team's on-base percentage of .438 also ranked inside the top-10 at No. 8 while their 2.73 stolen bases per game were the 7th-best in the nation. 

Jordan Swiss had a .500 batting average, ranking him fifth in the nation and his on-base percentage of .597 was seventh. Amani Godfrey's 14.82 strikeouts per nine innings rank him sixth in all of NCAA Division II. 

Saginaw Valley travels to play at Tiffin University in a weekend series, which begins Friday (Mar. 23) with a single, nine-inning game at 3:00 p.m. Saturday's action will feature two 7-inning contests that start at 1:00 p.m. Sunday will be another nine-inning game at noon.
