Pittsburg State wins the 2022 men's championship; West Texas A&M wins women's title
Pittsburgh State men, West Texas A&M women win 2022 national titles
The 2022 DII outdoor track and field season has come to a close with Pittsburg State men and West Texas A&M women winning the 2022 national championship.
This was Pittsburgh State's first time winning the DII outdoor track and field national title. The Gorillas won with 70 points and held West Texas A&M from winning both the men's and women's team titles this weekend.

A big part of the win for Pittsburgh State was Braylen Brewer's win in the 400m. He beat out the Academy of Art's Duncan Agyemang by .03 seconds. In addition to that, Louis Rollins and TJ Caldwell finished first and third in the 110m hurdles.
On the women's side, West Texas A&M dominated the field winning with 77 points. The next closest team was Grand Valley State at 64.

The Buffaloes picked up a lot of points with a second and third place finish in the 100m from DeOndra Green and Leah Belfield. Later in the 200m, Belfield picked up more points with a first place finish. This was the program's second DII outdoor track and field championship.

The DII men's and women's track and field championships will wrap up Saturday with a full slate of events. It will run all through the morning and afternoon.

The DII outdoor track and field championships kicked off Thursday, May 26, at Grand Valley State Track and Field Stadium in Allendale, Michigan. Champions were named in seven events.
These events named national champions on Thursday:

NCAA Divison II men's and women's outdoor track and field championships qualifiers announced
INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee has announced the participants for the 2022 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships. A total of 754 participants, 377 men and 377 women, will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching a provisional standard established for each event. The complete list of qualifiers is available here. Heat sheets will be available at this same website by Monday, May 23.
The championships will be held May 26-28 in Allendale, Michigan at the Grand Valley State Track & Field Stadium. Grand Valley State University and the West Michigan Sports Commission will serve as co-hosts of the championships. The championships will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
Selections will be announced Tuesday, May 17
The DII men's and women's outdoor track & field championship selections will be announced Tuesday in a press release here on NCAA.com. The 2022 DII outdoor track & field championships are from May 26-28 at Grand Valley State Track and Field Stadium in Allendale, Mich. The finals will stream live on NCAA.com.
The Grand Valley State's men's team and Azusa Pacific's women's team are the defending champions.
