SVSU Cardinal Senior Spotlight - Jordan Weaver

SVSU Cardinal Senior Spotlight - Jordan Weaver

Saginaw Valley State University Athletics will be releasing a series of student-athlete spotlights, which will feature some of our Cardinal senior student-athletes from the 2019-20 academic year. Stay tuned to www.svsucardinals.com over the next few weeks to get to know our SVSU seniors a bit more.

Our next Cardinal to be featured is Jordan Weaver, who is a co-captain of the Men's Golf team. Weaver is a native of Cadillac, Michigan and competed for Saginaw Valley in the past four seasons.

His favorite spot on campus is the Eastland Golf Center, which is the state of the art practice facility where the Cardinal Men's and Women's Golf teams practice during the colder months and adverse weather conditions.

Jordan's favorite memory competing for the Cardinals was when he fired a career-best round of 70 in the first round of SVSU's home tournament in the fall of 2017. The moment was special for him because he had a lot of family members there to witness it. He is known for begin a huge Philadelphia sports fan and he follows all of those teams closely. He labels any of the team's spring break trips to Florida as the top road trips he has been on.

Weaver graduated this past December and currently works in an accounting role at a boat manufacturer in Cadillac, Michigan. He was the 2019 IMA Accounting Award recipient for SVSU.

Jordan Weaver on his experience as an SVSU Student-Athlete...

"My time at SVSU was easily the best four and a half years of my life. I lived out a dream of competing in athletics and established relationships that will last a lifetime. I would like to thank the entire administration, Coach Vogl, my teammates and anyone else who helped make my time as a Cardinal so special!"

SVSU Men's Golf Head Coach Joe Vogl on Jordan Weaver...

"Weave is one of your classic D-II golfers. A high GPA, extremely competitive and all he ever wanted was a chance to compete. He bounced in and out of the lineup through his four years, but when he was in the lineup, I could always count on him. Never a quitter! A great co-captain and leader. In fact, SVSU has had a lot of successful business majors as alums, but I think in time Weave will top them all!"
